Terms of Service
Welcome to TruthStamp. These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legal agreement between you ("you", "your", "User") and TruthStamp ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using TruthStamp, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
TruthStamp is a software-as-a-service platform that helps users create verifiable, tamper-proof timestamps for digital content (collectively, the "Service"). The Service generates cryptographic proofs of when content existed and who created it, stored on a decentralized verification layer that operates independently of TruthStamp's servers.
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice for any material changes that affect your use of the Service.
2. Eligibility & Account
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use TruthStamp. By creating an account, you represent that:
- You meet the age requirement and have legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
- The information you provide during signup is accurate, current, and complete.
- You will keep your account credentials secure and not share them with others.
- You are responsible for all activity under your account.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use TruthStamp only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Stamp content that infringes any intellectual property rights, including copyright or trademarks.
- Stamp content that is illegal, threatening, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
- Use the Service to harass, impersonate, or deceive others.
- Attempt to bypass security measures, abuse the verification system, or interfere with other users.
- Use automated tools or scripts to create stamps in bulk except via our official API with sufficient credits.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. Reports of abuse can be sent to support@truthstamp.io.
4. User Content
You retain all ownership rights to content you submit through TruthStamp ("User Content"). By creating a public stamp, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host and display your User Content as part of the Service, including on shareable proof pages.
Important: Once content is stamped publicly, the proof and content metadata become permanent. We cannot delete or modify proofs already created on the verification layer. Hash-only and Sealed visibility options are available for users who prefer not to expose content publicly.
5. Pricing & Credit Purchases
TruthStamp uses a credit pack model. Users receive an initial allocation of free credits upon signup. Additional credits may be purchased in packs at the prices shown on our Pricing page. By purchasing a credit pack, you agree to:
- Pay all fees associated with your selected pack, in the currency specified.
- Provide accurate billing information.
- Acknowledge that credits, once purchased, are non-refundable except as specified in our Refund Policy.
- Acknowledge that credits never expire and have no monetary value outside of the Service.
Each stamp consumes a fixed number of credits based on content type (text stamps consume 1 credit, URL stamps consume 2 credits, file stamps consume 3 credits). Credit consumption rates may change with reasonable notice; existing credit balances are not affected by such changes.
Payments are processed by third-party providers including Razorpay and Stripe, and where applicable, alternative payment methods. By making a payment, you also agree to the terms of the relevant payment processor.
Promotional bonus credits ("Launch Bonus" and similar offers) may be added to credit pack purchases at our discretion. We may modify or discontinue such promotions at any time. Bonus credits already granted to your account are yours to keep.
6. Account Management
You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing us. Account closure does not entitle you to a refund of unused credits except in cases of platform-side service discontinuation. Your existing stamps remain accessible and verifiable on the decentralized verification layer regardless of account status.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with no obligation to refund unused credits.
7. Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or factors outside our control. We are not liable for downtime or delays.
Permanence promise: Even if TruthStamp's website becomes unavailable, your existing stamps remain verifiable on the underlying decentralized verification layer. See our Trust page for details.
8. Intellectual Property
All TruthStamp branding, software, design, and content (excluding User Content) are owned by TruthStamp and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works without our written permission.
9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TruthStamp's total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
TruthStamp does not provide legal advice. Cryptographic timestamps may serve as supporting evidence that a hash of content existed at a specific time. They do not prove authorship, ownership, originality, or non-repudiation in all contexts, and their admissibility and weight as evidence vary significantly by jurisdiction and the specific circumstances of any dispute. Always consult a qualified lawyer for advice specific to your situation.
10. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity. Upon termination, your access to paid features ends; existing public stamps remain on the verification layer permanently.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of TruthStamp will be resolved in the courts of Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
For users outside India, local consumer protection laws may apply in addition to these Terms.
