TruthStamp provides cryptographic timestamping services. It proves that a hash of your content existed at a specific time — it does not establish authorship, originality, ownership, or non-repudiation in all contexts. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and evidentiary value depends on your jurisdiction.
What TruthStamp Proves
When you create a stamp, TruthStamp computes a cryptographic hash (fingerprint) of your content and records that hash, together with a timestamp, on the MegaETH blockchain — optionally also on Arweave and Bitcoin. This creates a permanent, independently verifiable record that:
- A piece of content producing this exact hash existed at the recorded time
- The record has not been altered since it was created (the blockchain is immutable)
- The record was submitted by the wallet/account associated with the stamp
What TruthStamp Does Not Prove
A TruthStamp proof, on its own, does not establish:
- Authorship — that you personally created the content, as opposed to obtaining it from someone else
- Originality — that the content is novel, non-infringing, or free of third-party rights
- Ownership — of any intellectual property, copyright, trademark, or other rights in the content
- Content integrity beyond the hash — TruthStamp records a hash; it does not validate the truth, accuracy, or legality of the underlying content
- Identity — the
creatorIdentityfield is an application-layer claim made by the TruthStamp platform on behalf of the user, not a cryptographically authenticated identity verified independently by the blockchain (except where the user signs with their own wallet)
Evidentiary Value Varies by Jurisdiction
Laws regarding the admissibility and weight of blockchain timestamps as evidence differ significantly between countries, and in many jurisdictions there is little or no settled case law on the subject. A TruthStamp proof may be useful as supporting evidence of when content existed — for example, to demonstrate priority in a dispute, or to corroborate a claim — but it should not be assumed to be conclusive, sufficient, or admissible on its own in any legal, regulatory, or contractual context.
If you require a timestamp or proof for a matter with legal, regulatory, or financial consequences, consult a qualified legal professional in the relevant jurisdiction before relying on TruthStamp for that purpose.
Not Legal Advice
Nothing on truthstamp.xyz, in any TruthStamp proof, certificate, or related documentation, constitutes legal advice. TruthStamp is not a law firm and does not provide legal services. Use of TruthStamp does not create an attorney-client relationship of any kind.
Permanence and Independence
Public stamps are recorded on the MegaETH blockchain and stored permanently on Arweave; optionally, a reference may also be anchored to Bitcoin via OP_RETURN. These records can be independently verified by anyone, using any compatible RPC node, Arweave gateway, or Bitcoin block explorer — without relying on TruthStamp's servers, database, or continued operation. See Trust & Permanence and Verify a Proof for details.
However, TruthStamp itself — the website, dashboard, accounts, and any convenience features — is a centralized service and may be modified, discontinued, or become unavailable. This does not affect the underlying on-chain and on-Arweave records, which remain independently verifiable.
No Warranty
TruthStamp is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. TruthStamp does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular legal outcome will result from use of a TruthStamp proof.
